The TV Theme is over but so what the hell do I do next? I think that next, I'm going to do a tribute to Post Metal. Post Metal is a strange genre to explain. It's got the heavy metal stuff BUT it has many melodic sections. According to the wonders of wikipedia: "It is broadly characterized by distorted guitar, heavy atmospherics, gradual evolution of song structure, and a minimal emphasis on vocals." So what does it sound like? That's even harder to explain. Take for instance the band Kayo-Dot. It's basically the duo of Toby Driver who plays guitar, cello, bells, double bass and clarinet; and Mia Mastumiya who plays violin, viola, vocals and bells. With that kind of musical line-up, where does the metal come in? Listen:
